Windy Cove Energy, LLC is a U.S. oil company focused on CO2 enhanced oil recovery practices. Founded in 2014, Windy Cove’s management team is targeting oil field development projects in four strategic areas: the Rocky Mountains, the Permian Basin, the Midcontinent and the Gulf region. We are actively seeking oil fields and CO2 source fields in these areas. Our strategy is to find properties that are suitable for CO2 source development and enhanced oil recovery and either acquire them or participate in a joint venture.
Led by Chuck Fox, our management team has decades of enhanced oil recovery experience, with most operations conducted in the Permian Basin and Rocky Mountains. Our expertise ranges from upstream oil field development to surface facilities, pipelines, and power.
Charles E. (Chuck) Fox is chief executive officer and founder of Windy Cove Energy. Previously, he was vice president of operations and engineering for Kinder Morgan CO2 Company, where he managed operations of the McElmo Dome CO2 source field and 1,000 miles of CO2 pipeline. In addition, he also was responsible for the company’s oil and gas CO2 enhanced oil recovery operations, including the five billion barrel original-oil-in-place (OOIP) Yates field, the three billion barrel OOIP SACROC field, and the Snyder Gasoline Plant. Chuck is a co-author of the SPE monograph, Practical Aspects of CO2 Flooding and is an SPE distinguished lecturer. He holds a M.S. degree in petroleum engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Rice University. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas and New Mexico.
